BankUnited, Miami HEAT to Award $25,000 in College Scholarships

Online applications close this Saturday for high school seniors in Monroe, Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties

BankUnited and the Miami HEAT Charitable Fund are offering $25,000 in college scholarship funds to deserving South Florida high school seniors; interested students have until Saturday, January 30, 2021, to apply online.

Now in its 25th year, the Miami HEAT Scholarships presented by BankUnited awards five $5,000 college scholarships to high school seniors attending school in Monroe, Miami-Dade, Broward or Palm Beach County.

“More than ever before, BankUnited is honored to support local students who have persevered and remained committed to their education and community service,” said BankUnited Executive Vice President Lisa Shim, head of consumer and small business banking. “As proud partners of the Miami HEAT, and as part of our commitment to the communities where we live and work, BankUnited supports people and programs aimed at making a difference.”

The Miami HEAT Scholarships presented by BankUnited are awarded to students who have demonstrated excellence in academics and community service. Scholarships will be bestowed in the following categories: three $5,000 HEAT Scholarships, one $5,000 Dr. Jack Ramsay Scholarship and one $5,000 Alec Kessler Student-Athlete Scholarship.

South Florida high school seniors currently attending school in Monroe, Miami-Dade, Broward or Palm Beach County and will be enrolling in a four-year accredited college can apply now at www.heat.com/scholarships .
