Broward Education Foundation and Destination Dorm Deliver Essentials to Graduates Who Experienced Housing Instability

Broward Education Foundation also presented scholarships to grads

Broward Education Foundation in collaboration with Destination Dorm delivered dorm essentials to Broward County public high school graduating seniors who have experienced housing instability or extreme adversity, during the recent drive-through Senior Send-Off celebration. In addition, Broward Education Foundation surprised 25 students with four-year scholarships funded through The Frederick A. Deluca Foundation

The graduating seniors received laptops, bedding, pillows, laundry baskets, lamps, toiletries and much more to ensure they can comfortably begin the next exciting phase of their lives. The giving collaboration included Children’s Services Council of Broward County, Broward County Public Schools Homeless Education Assistance Resource Team (HEART) and Immanuel Temple Church.

“We are so proud of all of our graduates and these students all hold a special place in our hearts.  Not only are we sending these students off to college and in some cases, the U.S. Armed Forces, with essential supplies that they will need, we are also giving 25 of them the scholarships to fund their dream of attending college,” said Shea Ciriago, CEO of Broward Education Foundation. “We are certain that with these scholarships from the Deluca Foundation, the grads will achieve their highest potential!”
