Lori Pratico

No Fear Art – Drawing Edition, led by nationally acclaimed artist Lori Pratico, is an exercise in relaxation and having fun in being creative. The session explores the critical things we say to ourselves about ourselves with a fun exercise in drawing, before moving on to learning some simple techniques that can be applied to drawing everyday objects. Participants are encouraged to have the following items at hand:

  • Three or more sheets of 8 ½” x 11” paper or copy paper
  • One #2 pencil
  • One pen or fine point marker (preferably black)
  • Two or more Q-tips (optional)
  • Three or more tree leaves

Pratico is a self-taught mural artist who began her artistic career at 19 in Philadelphia. Whether painting live at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino or creating a live mural at the Miami Boat Show, Pratico’s creativity can be found throughout South Florida on the walls of restaurants, boutiques, popular night spots and many other businesses. In 2015, Pratico launched a nationwide mural project called “Girl Noticed.” In its inaugural year, Hoffman’s Chocolates chose the project to be part of its ArtBar campaign along with acclaimed artists Guy Harvey and Clyde Butcher. The artwork and message have garnered the attention of news stations in Florida, Ohio, New York, Virginia, Nebraska and Alaska. Pratico’s latest endeavors include a stage presentation, large scale mural and paintings on canvas of female Holocaust survivors living in Broward County and she was honored with the Artist Visionary Award in Broward County during the opening of (DIS)Obedient at ArtServe last March.
