COVID-19 Update: Albizu University’s Miami Campus Working Remotely Through March 31

With the best interests of its students, faculty, staff, and the South Florida community in mind, Albizu University is offering academic and administrative services remotely until March 31, 2020. This decision was made by the University’s administration to prevent further spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.

During this period, students are instructed not to visit the Miami Campus. Academic activities will continue via an online pilot mechanism developed for this emergency.

The Goodman Center will not provide psychological services to the general public through March 31. The University’s Chancellor will share the clinical services continuity plan.

Employees are instructed to contact the Director of Human Resources to coordinate procedures to collect resources they need to complete tasks remotely. Students in need of access to a virtual connection should contact the Dean of Students immediately.

“Nothing is more important to us than the well-being of our students, faculty, and staff,” said Albizu University President José Pons Madera, Ph.D. “Our mission is to educate individuals capable of serving the diverse populations of our global community, and in these challenging times, our community will be best served by engaging with our students and continuing our administrative tasks remotely.”

The University urges everyone to use only reliable sources of information about COVID-19 and echoes the request made by health authorities and government to implement social distancing strategies to control and reduce the spread of the pandemic in our community. Any member of the University community experiencing symptoms associated with COVID-19 is required to notify the institution directly through the Dean of Students or the Office of Human Resources.
