Morton’s The Steakhouse Announces New Menu Items

FLORIDA (June 25, 2010) – On Tuesday, June 29 Morton’s The Steakhouse introduces nine new menu items created to add even more variety to the renowned restaurant’s popular menu. The new menu items will be offered in Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, West Palm Beach, Orlando and Jacksonville.

“These offerings were tested in several markets and were met with rave reviews. We are certain that the Florida community will delight in these dishes and keep coming back for more,” said Roger Drake, senior vice president of marketing and communications at Morton’s The Steakhouse. “We’re certain they will delight our loyal guests and introduce new guests to Morton’s great menu.”

Beginning with hors d’oeuvres, the menu offered exclusively in Morton’s private boardrooms now features Blue Cheese Tenderloin Crostinis. Additions to the Bar 1221 Power Hour bar bite menu are Crab Cake BLTs and Smoked Salmon Pizza. Guests will enjoy three mini crab cakes served on miniature burger buns with mustard mayonnaise and topped with lettuce, tomato and bacon. Smoked salmon pizza is garnished with capers, purple onion, dill and sour cream and was featured in Morton’s most recent cookbook, Morton’s The Cookbook. It has been added to the menu as a result of its popularity from being offered as hors d’oeuvres on the book tour.

Sumptuous new entrees, side dishes and a dessert enhance Morton’s classic menu. A 12-ounce Double Cut Filet served without the strap and a 16-ounce Bone-In Filet are highlights of the new menu. Both filets are served with a creamy Béarnaise sauce. Also new to the menu is the fresh seafood option of Chilean Sea Bass glazed with pineapple-pepper salsa. Two new side dishes are Steak Fries and Onion Rings, which are served crispy with a side of Thai cream sauce and ketchup. The best dessert just got better. The newest dessert creation, Morton’s Legendary Sundae, sandwiches Morton’s Legendary Hot Chocolate Cake between three scoops of vanilla ice cream and is topped with caramel and fresh whipped cream.
