New Shooters Fort Lauderdale, Events by Grateful Palate and Grateful Palate Provisioning Bring New Life to Intracoastal Site

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – (July 9, 2013) — The Grateful Palate restaurant has announced that Saturday, July 13, 2013 will be the last day of operation at its current location on Southeast 17th Street. The restaurant’s owner, William McIntyre, recently purchased Shooters Waterfront Cafe and Bootlegger, former landmarks in South Florida’s waterfront restaurant scene, and has begun their transformation into a trio of waterfront businesses at 3033 NE 32 Avenue on the Intracoastal Waterway.

  • Bootlegger will become Events by Grateful Palate, a unique special event venue with outstanding food, service and views of the Intracoastal Waterway. The 6,000 sq. ft. location will be elegantly redesigned in the tradition of The Grateful Palate as an ideal waterfront venue for weddings, private parties and other special events.
  • Shooters Waterfront Café will now be called Shooters Fort Lauderdale and serve a greatly enhanced waterfront dining experience. The 14,000 sq. ft. restaurant will undergo a complete interior and exterior redesign, including a new al fresco dining area and a creatively inspired menu of fresh offerings.
  • Grateful Palate Yacht Provisions will continue operations seamlessly from the new location, offering convenient provisioning services both dockside and by delivery. Located on the east side of the Intracoastal Waterway just south of Oakland Park Boulevard, the property includes 340 feet of dockage.

All of the Grateful Palate’s excellent wait staff and talented chefs that have been key to the success of the restaurant and yacht provisioning business will make the transition to the new location.

“We’re bringing an energized, fresh look and feel to a prime waterfront dining location,” said Meghan Leckey, director of operations for Shooters Fort Lauderdale, Events by Grateful Palate and Grateful Palate Yacht Provisions. “We have tremendous plans for the new location and are creating a spectacular new dining option on the water in Fort Lauderdale, with great food and a fun atmosphere, as well as the most convenient options available for yachts to handle provisioning.”

The existing Shooters restaurant will stay open during the phased renovations. Events by Grateful Palate will open in fall 2013. Anticipated completion of the Shooters Fort Lauderdale redesign is early 2014.
